Regular help

Grandmother and grandchild

In our village and in the neighbourhood, there was a very strong antipathy towards leprosy. But the Lepramism Mission staff changed that. We have set up a nine-member self-help group in our village and we receive regular help and support from the Mission on how to make it work.

When the villagers saw that we were being visited by professionals, touched, talked to and dealt with, they thought... This attitude changed everything. They now know how unjustified and wrong the fear of leprosy is!
