Kamal Uddin, one of this year's Wellesley Bailey Award winners, is the founder of the ALO Society in Bangladesh, who turned his encounter with leprosy into a force for change. Despite facing severe disabilities and discrimination, Kamal now leads a national organisation with over 20,000 members in 130 districts. Under his leadership, the ALO Society has empowered thousands through leprosy and COVID-19 awareness, education support for over 800 students and income-generating projects. Kamal's dedication has had a lasting impact, educating the public and uplifting marginalized communities.
