On World Disability Day (3 December), we thought fondly of the millions of people who have become disabled because of a late-diagnosed, neglected leprosy condition. Their misery is even greater! This should not be happening if all infected people were diagnosed and treated with medication in time! - However, in our mission institutions, we do not only deal with people with disabilities caused by leprosy. The door and care is open to all our fellow human beings who are disabled due to birth defects or any other cause! In many countries, people with disabilities are denied their basic human rights and care is not available to them. That is why the Lepramissiion considers them as one of us, because love and help cannot be limited!
